Have you checked out the Bradenton Riverwalk yet? It is 1.5 miles in length near downtown Bradenton. It lies directly along the Manatee River, offering serene views all while boasting an array of amenities to enjoy. Following the trail starting at the Easternmost point, right behind Manatee Memorial Hospital is the skate park. Designed and constructed by the award winning "Team Pain Skate Parks", this area is a favorite of roller sport enthusiasts all over the area to ride and perform tricks all while steps away from the emergency room. As you walk west along the Manatee River you will pass by the beach volleyball court, and the shaded "outdoor living room", which offers comfortable seating and more great views of the river to relax for some downtime. Keep on walking and you will pass the "Tidal Discovery Zone'' that offers an up close view of the ecosystem along the river's edge, followed by the most popular area, the Family Fun Zone! The Family Fun Zone features two large playground areas with age appropriate play sets for children of every age, plus shaded benches for adults. The main feature is the splash pad, with water shooting into the air from multiple jets: it's the perfect way for the kids (and even adults) to cool down from the hot days and have some fun, too! In the same area you can find a fishing pier where you might catch one of the trains leaving Tropicana to head north across the river. Next, you will walk by the pavilion and event center, the center stage for events and concerts like the famed Bradenton Blues Festival. A little farther east and you'll pass the Mosaic Amphitheater. Here you can enjoy live entertainment such as community plays, concerts, and school performances. Don't forget to check out the Music in the Park series here every Spring. Besides that, there are multiple lawns where you can find people attending exercise and yoga classes, flying kites, doing a drum circle, art shows, picnics, and more! What an amazing feature we have here, offering so much all while enjoying the tranquil views and lovely breeze from the Manatee River. If you live in Manatee county, go take advantage!
